Serotonin Psychology ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal and health information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic).

Information we collect

We collect personal information necessary to provide therapy services, including your name, contact details, date of birth, Medicare or NDIS details where relevant, referral information, and clinical notes related to your care.

How we use your information

Your information is used to provide therapeutic services, communicate with you about appointments, liaise with referrers (such as your GP) where you have consented, and meet our legal and professional obligations.

Storage and security

Records are stored securely in encrypted, password-protected systems. Access is restricted to your treating practitioner. Records are retained for a minimum of seven years from your last appointment, or until age 25 for clients under 18, in line with professional standards.

Disclosure

We will not disclose your information without your consent, except where required by law (for example, mandatory reporting, court subpoena, or where there is a serious risk to your safety or the safety of others).
